As an Asian, this place feels pretty authenticate to me. Lots of waiting in the line, the pork skins in the mix are delicious!

Seriously, exquisitely delicious carnitas! Only downside is the extremely loud pounding of the meat (which is done out front near the consumer). I suggest picking up and taking it home or to the beach. Absolutely delicious!

Quick and efficient service. Small menu but they provide quality, which is always good. I like the family business and I hope they do good and opening another location. A lot of locals walk in and enjoy their food. Enough tables to eat and also the salsa bar is really nice. You cannot beat the price and 1 taco for $2.50 + tax is worth it, because they have homemade tacos that are the size of a burrito. If you like to take out, no problem and also they provide meat to sell by the pound $8.99+tax. Provecho! (enjoy)

The carnitas where not oily, but also not as flavorful as some places. Very affordable if you order by the pound as opposed to per taco.

When you only do one thing, you'd better do it right, and Carnitas El Try does Carnitas right. I got two meaty tacos to go, $3 each.

The carnitas were pretty good. The tacos are 2.50 but they are pretty big and loaded with meat. 2 or 3 of these are enough to get one person full.

Expect a continuous a crowd as this place is a local favorite. Christmas Eve sold out a day’s worth of carnitas in 2 hours turning clients away.The food is well cooked but soft enough to enjoy with salsa. Order by the pound, add the sides and dig in with a group. Flavor is light enough to not have the cooking oils overwhelm the flavor. Parking found behind building or across the street.

Good carnitas. Make sure you ask for all meat no the mix (very fatty). Friendly and quick service. The rice is delicious. I would recommend getting the one taco combo (come with rice and beans). The tacos are a pretty good size.

The best carnitas ever. The tacos are very large and filling. The carnitas is juicy and tender especially if you get it mixed with everything. The habanero onions are dangerous spicy and totally irresistible. The tortillas are fresh and flavorful, standing up well to all the flavors of the habanero, carnitas, and salsa.

This taqueria is legit, they only serve carnitas and they do not disappoint. Best carnitas I've ever had!

Authentic Mexican food...simple and perfect. They have carnitas tacos and sides and salsa and that's it and that is as enough and as good as it gets.

Really good, fresh, cheap, and huge portions! Highly recommend. The menu on the wall is in Spanish but the employees speak English. Parking is on the street so that can be a bit of a hassle. There's usually a line but it moves fast.

Carnitas El Rey is a traditionally cooked porked, specially served in tacos.Place presentation and cleanliness: 10/10 Salsa bar looked very clean, front counter and register looked good as well. Dining area was clean.Rice was ok, the baked beans were not fresh beans and clearly a reheat from days as they tasted and looked that way.Tacos and Carnitas, were as good as it gets. Michoacan is known for its carnitas. Go here and eat a taco. You only need one. It's $3 and very large. Top it with Pico de Gallo and some sauce. You will come back. I am fortunate to work nearby.

The best food place In Oxnard taste wise and cost wise.I recommend adding a lot of lemon to your tacos.Also try the Taco which only has the cheeks meat in it, i personally think they are better than the tacos which have the skin, cheeks and meat mixed.

This place has the best costumer service. I usually order to go but when I do eat here I feel like I’m at home. I like the vibes this place gives me its very homey. The menu is simple and to the point which I like because I do not get overwhelmed when I’m ordering.

Is a clean place and the food is good the only think is the restrooms you need to go like behind the kitchen and you need to cross floor that feels slippery for the grease.

DELICIOUS AND AUTHENTIC!! Flavorful, Delicious and VERY Filling!!! I CRAVE their tacos now that my friend told me about this place a month ago! Closed on Mondays! I went on Monday to get tacos to go for our dinner and nearly cried because they were closed! Lol Today I bought 6 combination tacos AND 6 EXTRA TORTILLAS! Yes, the tacos are filled SO full, you can get 2 less full tacos out of each one! This place is a MUST TRY if in the area!!! You will NOT be disappointed 😉

These folks keep the two long lines moving quickly and efficiently. It's a very popular destination for pork Carnitas, which is the central theme of their menu. In fact, if you don't care for Carnitas, this is most likely not the place for you. They are masters of their craft, no doubt about it. The salsas are great too.

Seriously legit carnitas! Carnitas El Rey does one thing and they do it perfection. Service is fast and friendly and the place is immaculate. The carnitas and tortillas alone make for delicious eating and are enhanced by the addition of equally well prepared sides and condiments (salsas). Parking can be tricky. Be prepared to make a few orbits around the block. This place is worth it.

Amazing. A standard I wish many local cuisine restaurants would follow or learn from. Fast service, on point and authentic food, and friendly staff. After I was done I stood back in line to get two more tacos. My only wish was that Anthony Bourdain was here to try Carnitas El Rey with all of us.

My top place for tasty mexican food. Got there near six, it wasn't packed at all. It has a nice atmosphere.

They have a delicious green salsa, tortillas are freshly cooked and the food is great.

I recently just visited the area and was taken to lunch here. Let me tell you, it's worth every single bite. I stay in San Diego and I am just blown away by how good the food is. The menu is simple but with few items they have, it's done really well. I am definitely coming back here!
